Stephen Clements 47 died suddenly hours after posting an emotional picture montage of his children and family. The final post of the BBC star included a love heart and praying emoji. In a statement Stephen’s brother Gavin Clements said: “We are devastated to lose Stephen who was deeply loved by his family and friends. We would ask for time to come to terms with this news and for privacy at this difficult time.”
Stephen kick started his radio career with Citybeat, he then hosted Q Radio’s breakfast show over an seven year stint before going on to join the BBC in 2019.
A statement from the BBC has described the presenters death as “sudden,” but no further details have been revealed. Fans have been posting underneath his heartbreaking last post, one said “So very very sad. A true shining light” and another added “I don’t know anyone who was as devoted to his children as he was.”
Stephen leaves behind a wife and two children.
