Spain Is Sprinkled With Magic On The Three Kings’ Day

TODAY, children all over Spain have woken to the magic of The Three Kings’ Day.

The most magical night for Spanish children and all children all over Spain comes the night of January 5, the night their homes are visited by the Three Kings.

And on the morning of January 6, the little ones in the house wake the happiest and most excited on the planet.

During that magical night, the Three Kings, who arrived from the East, sneak into their homes to fill their shoes with gifts.

The same long and mysterious journey that the three illustrious characters undertook, guided by a star, to reach the place of Jesus’ birth and give him gold, incense and myrrh.

Children all over Spain have delighted at the gifts left by the three kings.

The star toys this year have been: Electronic scooters, L.O.L. Surprise! Amazing Surprise, Remote-controlled Batmobile, LEGO Harry Potter Knight bus as well as Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon.

Though studies show that over 80 per cent of children ask for a mascot at Christmas, hopefully those who have received their much wanted puppy or kitten will be responsible enough to care for it properly.

Despite the excitement of many children in Spain, there are some who will go without a toy this year. In Spain there are 1,400,000 minors living in severe poverty, and 2,200,000 at risk of poverty. The constant increase in inequality has made it hereditary.

Euro Weekly News was able to speak with some children early this morning and it was touching to see that some were on their way to deliver toys to those in need.

Others expressed their wish for “world peace” “for the end of poverty” and for more action to be taken to “help fight climate change.”
