The Magic of the Orient and Brothers in Band spotted in Spain

TWO completely different shows will be taking place at the Torrevieja Auditorium over the next few months with the most immediate being the arrival of  the exceptional acrobats and the performers of the New Shanghai Circus who will astound audiences on Friday January 10.

This group of young athletes is made up by some stunning dancers, trapeze artists, balancers, jugglers and contortionists who present a show that lasts an hour and a half with spectacular backdrops, costumes and skill.

More than 35 trained athletes will take part in a performance which promises to excite and astound the audience with feats of dexterity, magic and contortionism.

They have toured much of the world and tickets for their single show cost from €18 to €24 online.

Then on Saturday January 25 Torrevieja welcomes the Brothers in Band and their Very Best of Dire Straits show which faithfully reproduces the sounds of one of Britain’s most successful bands.

The original band will not be performing again and Mark Knopfler has become a regular composer of film soundtracks but this Spanish band have spent years honing their performance so that if you close your eyes, you think that you are back watching the real thing.

High spots include, Sultans of Swing, Love over Gold, Romeo and Juliet and naturally, Money for Nothing.

This is a nine piece band of professional musicians who are known for their album and DVD releases and they simply spend most of their lives on road reproducing the music of their heroes.

Tickets cost from €25 to €35 online or at the Auditorium box office.
