OFFICERS of the National Police have arrested two 14-year-old boys accused of eight crimes of robbery with violence and/or intimidation in Murcia.
Police say that the duo would identify a victim – usually another child on his own – they would follow him until they reached a quiet area, and once no one was in sight they would approach the victim to ask the time.
Once he took out their mobile phone to check, then intimidate the victim, sometimes using physical force, to take it away from him.
These minors are alleged to be part of a gang, which acted in groups of two, three or even four, all of them between 10 and 14 years old, and they moved around on bicycles, which allowed them to quickly escape.
The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Murcia Public Prosecutor’s Office for Minors.
This investigation has been carried out by Group IV of the Judicial Police of the National Police Station of Cartagena, which belongs to the Superior Headquarters of the National Police of the Region of Murcia.
