Vandalised festive decorations had to be taken down in Calle Gambo. “Maintenance department operatives have removed the sleigh and reindeers as they were badly damaged,” said Fiestas councillor Jesus Carrobles. “It wasn’t the first time that antisocial people have tried to wreck this decoration as it was damaged the day after it was installed although it was able to be repaired.” “Vandalism like this affects the Christmas spirit that we want to bring to the town and to its residents and visitors as well as material objects, ”Carrobles lamented. The sleigh and reindeers were not the only decorations in the vandals’ sights as the giant snowman at the La Palmera crossroads and the life-sized toy shoulders outside the l’Hort de Colon.
