A new lease of life has been given to Calpe’s auditorium at the Cultural Centre. Following a €107,391 investment in the past year, the Department of Culture has replaced the stage curtains. The fabric had not been replaced since the inauguration of the auditorium in 1999.
A specialised company was hired to replace the curtains for a cost of €8,560. The traditional red curtains were replaced with smart oil blue curtains, giving the space a new aesthetic. This improvement follows the installation of new seats and the replacement of the upper railing in 2018. In addition, LED spotlights were acquired as well as new furniture and a mixer table.
In the coming months, the Department of Culture has promised to paint the auditorium, in order to match the walls to the fresh new look
