MYSTERY WINNERS: El Gordo tickets sold here, but to whom? Photo credit: Google
LADY LUCK showered Teulada-Moraira with €20 millions worth of the first prize in Spain’s Christmas Lottery but little more is known than that. If the managers of the El Forti lottery administration on the Moraira-Calpe winners know the identities of those who bought the magic number 26590 that paid out €400,000 for each decimo (tenth of a series), they are divulging nothing to the Press. According to other local sources, one of the winners is originally from Granada and he learnt of his win while staying there. Apart from that, the El Forti managers who sold 50 winning tickets said soon after the draw that no-one had visited the Administration with a winning ticket. “It’s all very quiet and we do not rule out that many of the winning tickets could have been bought by visitors,” they said. “Christmas Lottery tickets are already on sale in the summer and its impossible to know who acquired them.”
