Police launch manhunt after elderly man is brutally beaten in Spain

A HORRIFYING assault has been carried out on an elderly resident in Madrid, Spain, sending shockwaves through the local community.

As reported by the Guardia Civil, a 70-year-old man was found lying unconscious and seriously injured on a street near to the Camarma de Esteruelas treatment plant in the early hours of this morning (December 30).

The person who stumbled upon the elderly man then made a desperate call to the emergency services for urgent help, with an ambulance and units from the Local Police being deployed to the scene.

Paramedics rushed to the victim’s aid, finding that the man was battered and bruised after receiving a number of blows to his head and face where he was also struggling to breathe. After being treated at the scene, the man was taken to the nearby Hospital de La Princesa where it is reported that he is in an extremely serious condition.

The Guardia Civil have now launched an investigation to find the perpetrator of this viscous assault on an elderly man where they are trawling through CCTV footage and also speaking to residents in the area. As Euro Weekly News understands, officers are waiting for the man to regain conscious in the hope that he can provide critical information on the case and it is not known how long he was lying in the street for after being attacked.
