EASY Horse Care Rescue Centre, in Rojales, invites those interested to come and meet their rescued horses, ponies and donkeys during their open day, held on the first Sunday of each month. Entry is free and children are welcome. On the day, they offer a free guided tour of the stables and fields where you can hear the incredible survival stories of some of their most famous horses. Spanish tours start at 1 pm and English tours start at 2 pm. You can also get to meet the owners, Sue and Rod Weeding, a British couple who founded the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre back in 2008. Afterward, you might like to stop for a cool drink, cake or savoury vegetarian snack in Charity’s Tearoom, named after one of their very special donkeys. While you’re there, you can also purchase t-shirts, keyrings, books and more. Proceeds from these sales help feed the equines and allow them to continue their work to improve animal welfare across Spain. The stables are located just outside of the township of Rojales at Partido Lo Garriga, 59.
