NEXT year will be a particularly special year for the quant village of Vilafranca in Mallorca, Spain, as it commemorates the 400th anniversary of its foundation.
To celebrate such a momentous event, the Local Council has organised a plethora of exciting events throughout the year to showcase the village’s historical, educational and cultural value.
The Council has also announced a contest for residents to design a logo to represent Vilafranca’s anniversary which will be used throughout the campaign. The local community are also encouraged to get involved in the celebrations, where they can submit their proposed ideas for activities until January 6.
Vilafranca is one of the most authentic villages in the entire Balearic Islands which has had an incredible influence on Mallorcan society. Renowned for its agricultural offer, the area has grown an assortment of crops for hundreds of years and is home to a small rural community.
