FAMILIES who lost their homes when the buildings collapsed will get €15,000 from Alicante Provincial Council.
The families had to leave their homes in Monovar on Spain’s Costa Blanca, when the houses started to collapse two weeks ago.
Councillor for People’s Welfare, Mª Carmen Jover, has visited the town, where she met with the families who have lost their homes. At the meeting, which included town mayor Alejandro Garcia, and local president of the People’s Party, Ana Marhuenda, the councillor outlined the measures to be carried out by the council.
She said: “We have come to Monovar to show all our support for the people affected and to be by the side of the neighbours who have lost their homes. We want to offer them a real solution through an extraordinary and exceptional help.”
The cash will be sent to the families via the town hall.
