Teenager dies after 'stolen' scrambler bike crashes into car
A TEENAGER has died after a “stolen” scrambler bike smashed into a car carrying young children.
The man, 18, was riding with another 18-year-old when the bike crashed into the Volkswagen car in Allerton, Liverpool, at around 8.40pm on Monday night.
Police believe the bike was stolen and was travelling in tandem with another when it smashed into a VW carrying two children aged 9 and 11.
The injured man remains in hospital in a serious condition, Merseyside Police said.
Witnesses reported that neither of the bikes had any lights on. The second bike initially stopped before making off.
Ch Insp Kevin Chatterton said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the two scrambler bikes prior to the collision.”
