London Overground tweeted: “Euston Underground station is closed due to a security alert.”
“Please follow instruction from staff and the emergency services.”
Video posted by commuters showed passengers – many with suitcases – being evacuated and a police presence by the closed station.
One said: Bomb scare at London Euston… Merry Christmas???”
Another posted: “I’m at Euston station trying to get home to Glasgow but it’s been evacuated. Hope nothing serious”
Earlier today there chaotic scenes at Euston station when a suspicious package was discovered. Here is the Update;
Later, London Transport Police said: “Please be aware, Euston was evacuated following a report of suspicious package. It’s been reviewed and found to be a DAB Radio. No concerns. Station will be reopening shortly”
