No re-christening for Church Square in Javea, Costa Blanca

ONLY 20 per cent of Javea residents backed a Podemos party proposal to change the name of Plaza de la Iglesia.
The local branch of left-wing Podemos organised an informal poll with the suggestion of re-naming the emblematic square as Plaza de Los Derechos Humanos (Human Rights).
The party later announced that 31 people backed the proposal but 121 voted against it.
“With a result like this, it’s obvious that we shan’t be presenting a petition,” a Podemos communique announced.
