Costa Blanca News: Town Hall in Ondara approves €6.8 million budget for 2020

BUDGET BOOST: Ondara has provisionally approved budgets for 2020

THE local government of Ondara has approved the municipal budgets for 2020. The amount has been increased to €6.8 million, €170,000 more compared to 2019. However, the Mayor José Ramiro assured that cost containment will continue to be applied throughout the budget.
According to Ramiro, the budget increase is the result of different activities. Around €80,000 is from revenue collected by departments such as Culture, Sports and Leisure. A further €13,000 have been collected through fines and income through IBI has also increased by €50,000 after an annual increment.
The loss of €86,000 can be highlighted as the AP-7 toll road will be free starting in 2020 and will no longer contribute to the IBI. This is one of the facts that make cost containment necessary, according to Ramiro. The improvement of municipal buildings, public roads and gardens will receive €92,000 more than in 2019 and the Town Hall will also increase the budget for social events by €90,000.
