A MAN has sadly died after his safety harness gave way as he was painting the outside of a building in Madrid, Spain.
As reported by the emergency services, two men had been carrying out work for the council on a block of flats on calle Hacienda de Pavones yesterday morning (December 17).
Tragically, the safety harness which was attached to the building’s chimney broke, causing the two men to plummet to the ground.
Emergency services had rushed to the scene, however, a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead on arrival as a result of the head injuries that he sustained. The second painter, a 41-year-old man, was taken to hospital where it is reported that he was not seriously hurt.
As Euro Weekly News understands, the man that survived the fall is being given psychological support as is in a state of shock after the devastating incident.
