THE Diputacion de Almeria has announced a €200,000 investment in modernising two streets in Uleila del Campo and in upgrading the Chirivel municipal swimming pools.
The provincial government’s Government Council has already approved the award of the contracts for carrying out both projects.
The works on the Filabres-Alhamilla municipality’s Fronton and Juan Soledad roads on the western side of the town will include replacing paving and street lighting, as well the water and sewage pipes. The project budget adds up to €77,000, which will be financed under the Provincial Plans
The €110,000 expenditure on the two Chirivel pools will cover measures aimed at making the facilities more hygienic for users and at improving accessibility in line with the corresponding current regulations.
The will include making access to the adult pool easier for people with reduced mobility and upgrades to the pools purification systems.
Diputacion Public Works deputy Oscar Liria remarked that these kinds of works contribute to “equalizing opportunities among residents of both municipalities, improving municipal infrastructure and services for residents.”
He also stressed the point that the works would not cost the Uleila and Chirivel councils a cent, and are entirely funded by the municipal administration.
