TOP NEWS SPAIN: The Body Of A Little Girl Has Been Found Floating In Waters Near Mount Buciero, Santoña- Spain

A FISHING BOAT has located this morning a corpse floating in front of Mount Buciero, in Santoña.

Around half past nine in the morning the Government Delegation informed that the body recovered is  a “minor”. Although the identity of the body has not yet been confirmed, everything suggests that it could be the body of Celia Cavia, the 14-year-old girl who disappeared on Thursday in Santander.

The body was found in the early hours of the morning, more than a kilometre from the coast. The alert was given at 6.55 a.m., when emergency services were called.

The Civil Guard, the National Police, Maritime Rescue and the Red Cross team of psychologists were alerted.

The discovery has taken place on the sixth day of the disappearance of Celia Cavia. The President of the Government of Cantabria himself spread the news on his Twitter profile stating that “it is a girl”. The identity is yet to be confirmed.

A fishing boat ‘Romu’ located the floating body. The only crew member on board at the time was the skipper who was able to pull the body out of the water and alert the Emergency services.

A patrol boat of the Civil Guard was sent to escort the fishing boat back to the port of Santoña. The port has been closed off waiting for the return of the vessels with the body.
