English News: Christmas Parcel Delivery Driver In Critical Condition After Robbers Mow Him Down With Own Van

A delivery driver is in a critical condition after being hit by his own van, police have said.

Two men aged 18 and 27 have been arrested and remain in police custody, now efforts focus to trace the van.

The delivery driver victim, 49, was delivering parcels in the town of Newbiggin in Northumberland yesterday when another man climbed into his delivery van and went on to run him over.

Northumbria Police were called to the incident on Derwentwater Road.

Officers believe the suspects may have been in the area before the incident, and have asked anybody to come forward who may have vital information.
