Costa del Sol: Local Police release a festive video wishing Malaga a Happy Christmas

Local Police find baby Mirko in the manger, a two-month-old they saved in Antequera

Local Police in Malaga have put together a heart-warming video to wish residents a Happy Christmas. For the second year running, local police officers Esther and Badillo have let themselves be surprised by the magic of Christmastime.

Recorded in the surroundings of Malaga Cathedral, the video begins by showing how the agents lose the lights of their patrol car. Suddenly, a mysterious blue light leads the officers through the city centre. They can’t believe their eyes as they begin to cross paths with characters from the stables in Bethlehem.

The light finally takes them to a living Nativity Scene, complete with Baby Jesus, Virgin Mary, Joseph and even a mule. Emotions ran high as Baby Jesus is seen being played by Mirko, a two-month-old baby who was saved by Local Police in Antequera when he almost died suffocated by his own phlegm. His parents kindly collaborated in the recording and enjoyed being able to see their baby playing the role of Jesus.

Local Police brought festivity to the centre of Malaga, as visitors and locals were surprised to see the Nativity Scene and characters on Postigo de los Abades street, close to the cathedral. The accompanying music is a piece belonging to the Nutcracker, a ballet tale composed by Chaikovski and the video was recorded in 4k by the Audiovisual Media Group of Malaga’s Local Police.
