A MENTALLY disabled boy aged 15 who needs constant surveillance was rushed to hospital after falling from a first floor window.

He fell from a room housing the toilets at the Jesus Maria de Villafranqueza school in Alicante last Friday, and by Tuesday was still in an induced coma.

Speaking to the Spanish press his father said that the boy had been attending the school for two years, but only two hours a day as the school did not have the specialist staff needed to help his son.

A recent report highlighted that a major source of complaints was that there is a lack of specialists for special education children.

The territorial director of Education, David Vento, said that the circumstances in which the child, fell are being investigated.
