A 51-year-old rock-climber has died in Spain after a tragic fall in a mountainous area in La Algaida, in the municipality of Carcabuey – Cordoba, according to the 112 Emergency hotline 112

As Euro Weekly News understands, the man fell from a height of over two meters and suffered a fatal impact against a rock.

The 112 emergency services were alerted yesterday afternoon by a call which informed that a man had suffered a serious accident and that CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was being performed on the individual.

The Empresa Pública de Emergencias Sanitarias (EPES), the firefighters of Priego de Córdoba and the Guardia Civil were immediately alerted and deployed to the scene.

The accident had taken place at a mountainous peak with very difficult access. The firefighters’ rescue team managed to reach the individual to continue with CPR however once the medical team arrived the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters informed that the deceased is a 51-year-old male.
