Proving the family’s universal appreciation for the former Great British Bake Offstar, Kate Middleton has revealed that one of Prince Louis’ first phrases was “that’s Mary Berry”.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 37, makes the sweet admission about her 19-month-old son in upcoming BBC1 programme ‘A Berry Royal Christmas’.
According to the royal mum-of-three – who appears in the TV special to be broadcast tomorrow evening at 8.30pm – her youngest child had become “fascinated” after seeing the 84-year-old food writer’s face on the cover of cookbooks in her kitchen.
“One of Louis’s first words was ‘Mary’,” she says.
“And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books, and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry’ . . . so he would definitely recognise you if he saw you today.”
