Two great men portrayed in Javea, Costa Blanca

PIP UTTON is sure to captivate Javea audiences with his renditions of Churchill and Einstein next January. He is a professional actor from the UK known for monologues including Adolf, Chaplin and Dickens and for transforming himself into the formidable Maggie Thatcher. Churchill is not portrayed as simply the famous political figure, as Pip does not judge the man but takes us backstage to his childhood, army life, marriage and more. Winston also made his mark in the world of painting and won a Nobel prize for Literature but there are no revelations about the great man, rather an entertaining biography with lots of humour. Although Einstein is regarded as a genius who is feared, not understood –relativity, science and all that –Pip’s portrayal reveals a difficult child and a largely unemployable young man who gradually makes his mark and changes our conception of science forever. The audience also learns about Einstein the human being and his womanising. Churchill will be performed at the Javea Players’ Studio Theatre in Calle Cronista Figueres from January 27-29 and Einstein from January 30-February 1.Tickets cost €13 and as this is bound to be another sell-out, so readers going away for Christmas should check the www.javeaplayers.com website for information.
