JAVEA town hall has allocated the contract to reconstruct the Triana bridge over the mouth of the River Gorgos. The bridge was initially damaged during floods in 2007 but has also suffered during the periods of heavy rain that regularly occur at the end of each summer and during the autumn. The town hall recently held an extraordinary meeting to allocate the contract to the Vilor SL company which put in a bid of €487,381.It only remains for the local Administration and the company to inspect the documents and sign the contract for work to start on demolishing the existing bridge and constructing areplacement. The contractor has been given12 weeks to carry out the project which includes illuminating the bridge’s railings and ensuring that it is accessible for those with mobility problems. Municipal sources revealed that the bidding process has been shortened, as replacing the bridge is urgently needed and has become increasingly necessary since the 2007 floods.
