UK ELECTION UPDATE: Tories Set To Win Landslide Majority As Labour heartlands turn blue
BORIS JOHNSON is on course for an historic landslide victory in the 2019 general election after an exit poll predicted an 86-seat Conservative majority
The Tories are predicted to win 368 seats – 50 up on 2017 – in their best result since 1987 under Margaret Thatcher
There are currently 573 of 650 results declared
Votes are still being counted, however the usually reliable exit poll predicts a Conservative landslide giving Boris Johnson a huge Tory victory.
Boris Johnson’s Conservatives need to win about 320 seats to be free to govern, meaning gains of more than 20 on their seat total when parliament was dissolved. Labour’s route to power proves to be steeper that ever, needing to gain 80 seats to form a majority.
The current results at 5:55 am are:
Conservative: 310 (+59)
Labour: 192 (-38)
SNP: 44 (+12)
Lib Dem: 7 (-9)
Green: 1 (+0)
Others: 19 (-24)
