New book unravels the history of Almuñécar

GIFTED resident Nicolás A. Fernández presented his new publication at the House of Culture in Almuñécar.
Entitled ‘Almuñécar en la Guerra de la Independencia. El Alcalde de Otívar’ which translates to “Almuñécar in the War of Independence. The Mayor of Otívar’, the event welcomed members of the community to a special preview of the book.
Speaking to the audience, Alberto García Gilabert, Councillor for Culture, introduced the talented author whose story “perfectly fulfils its objective by detailing one of most unknown events in the history of Almuñécar.” He also thanked Fernández on behalf of the council for his “daily efforts to pave the way for others to learn about our beloved city.”
Fernández then spoke about the inspiration behind his work and gave attendees a compelling discussion about his work, which García Gilabert added “was the perfect gift for Christmas.”
