A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy not only had a miraculous escape when he fell from the seventh floor of an apartment block but he is back home in time for Christmas.

The youngster – named only as Alvaro – plunged from the family apartment in calle Salduba in Marbella’s Plaza de Toros district on Saturday at around 4.30 pm.

Although he fell from a window on the seventh floor the distance was equivalent to six storeys because of a roof on the ground floor – but still a seemingly impossible drop to survive.

But by some Christmas miracle the young boy survived when washing lines on a lower floor acted like a net and cushioned his fall before he hit the lower roof then rolled off onto the pavement.

Passers-by rushed to his aid and a motorist took him to the local clinic, which immediately transferred Alvaro to hospital in a stable condition.

His family were praying for him and said the best Christmas present ever would be for his safe return home in time for the festivities.

On Tuesday their wish was granted, with Alvaro being sent home from the Costa del Sol Hospital to be at home with his family for Christmas.
