Costa del Sol News: Man living in Torremolinos is jailed after being found guilty of terrorism

The sentenced terrorist was living in Torremolinos

A Tunisian man in Torremolinos has been sentenced to five years in jail after he is found guilty of sending jihadists to conflict zones. National Police arrested the Tunisian citizen after the National Courts called for him to serve his five-year sentence. 

The sentence was imposed during a trial held in 2017 and confirmed in May 2019. The man was arrested for belonging to a terrorist organisation and that recruited jihadists and sent them to Syria, Libya or Mali. His specific role in the recruitment network was to provide the organisation with identity documents that could be used internationally.

The network in questions was considered as one of the most active and substantial terrorist organisations in Spain and Europe. They had recruited and sent a large number of radicalized to ISIS, Al Qaeda, Jabhat al-Nursa and the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa (MOJWA).
