A GANG that committed 11 burglaries in just two months, including one where they got away with €100,000 cash, has been jailed.
Alicante Provincial Court, based in Elche, has sentenced the three members of a gang to five years in prison each for committing up to 11 burglaries of an inhabited house in just over two months, from December 2017 to February 2018.
The court had heard that the three used a home in torrevieja as a base for their criminal activities throughout the Vega Baja.
They were highly organised ‘professional thieves’ and used false number plates on a series of cars to try and avoid detection.
Their biggest haul was at a house in Almoradí where they stole jewellery and €100,000 they found in a safe.
They also struck at other properties in Almoradi as well as in San Isidro, Catral, and Albatera.
