A 63-year-old pedestrian was knocked over by a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance in Alicante centre on Spain’s Costa Blanca today.
According to the Centre for Information and Coordination of Emergencies (CICU) and the Local Police, the traffic accident occurred at 11.15 a.m. in Avenida Jijona, at the Auditorio de la Diputación Provincial de Alicante (ADDA).
The ambulance was moving in the direction of Plaza de España on the reserved lane. According to an initial report by Local Police the pedestrian may have been jaywalking.
A SAMU emergency ambulance attended the scene where the victim was treated for broken bones before being taken to the University General Hospital of Alicante.
