Double Murder Linked to organised crime

At least 43 people have died in India’s capital New Delhi after a fire swept through a factory.

Benidorm resident Stuart Bettey called us from the scene. Stuart who resides near Benidorm is in New Delhi for business as he imports from factories in India for his customers in the Benidorm region

Stuart told the Euro Weekly News “16 people are being treated for burns or smoke inhalation and more than 50 people have been moved to safety, I was in the factory two doors down where my rugs are made for my clients in the Benidorm region which are retailed on the markets all across the tourist areas of Spain”

” We smelt smoke and thought the factory we were in was on fire, as we looked outside we could see gulfs of smoke and flames pouring out the factory doors and then soon the roof was alight”

” Here in India workers sleep in the factory during shift’s and it looks like the 43 who have perished were the ones in their bunks” Stuart continued.

” I’ve been in that factory which manufactures handbags and they store a lot of inflammable products as well as raw materials which wouldn’t have helped the situation”

” We were on early business selecting rugs for the markets in Benidorm and the fire started at around 7.30 AM just after our arrival, the scene was devastating people were running out on fire literally as bystanders helped them roll on the ground and threw buckets of water over them” Stuart added.

” The factory went up in huge balls of fire very quickly and those not on shift and in their bunks would have had no chance”

” Fire regulations here aren’t the greatest in all honesty and sprinkler devices like we have in Spain don’t exist”

Stuart said ” I don’t think I will ever forget this awful experience and I’m going to cut my trip short and head back home to Benidorm to be with my family and take a break”
