AN anonymous hero has saved a man with restricted mobility who was trapped in a house on fire in Denia.
The rescuer, who Spanish press reported is believed to be either a Moroccan or a Senegalese working in a nearby craft market, was walking down Calle Port early on Friday afternoon when he saw smoke billowing out from a first floor balcony and heard cries for help.
The young man scaled the wall and got into the house while neighbours fetched a ladder.
He managed to hoist the house occupant onto his shoulder and carry him down to safety before the emergency services arrived at the scene.
The brave hero reportedly then simply washed his hands in a neighbour’s house and went on his way.
