THE festive season is well underway in La Herradura, Spain, after the opening ceremony for the municipal nativity scene this week. Installed once again at the Pepe Gámez exhibition hall at the Herrera Civic Centre, the stunning display has been skilfully created by the Brotherhood of La Herradura with support of the council. The ceremony was attended by several key members of the community, including Deputy Mayor Juan José Ruiz Joya and Daniel Barla bero, Councillor for Tourism, Education and Beaches. Both praised the association “for their incredible work on the nativity scene.” Nestor Robledo, the parish priest of La Herradura, blessed the display which stretches across an area of almost 26m2, where popular Christmas carols were also sung by the Pastoral of La Herradura and the Rociero Choir. The winners of this year’s Christmas Postcard Contest were also announced, crowning Guillermo Maya Barranco and Carmen Luzón Muñoz for their winning designs.
