Lots to do in Javea this weekend for shopkeepers’ and business owners associations in Javea’s Old Town and Port area! Constitution long weekend is their Christmas curtain-raiser. Both groups are providing an atmosphere and activities that they hope will prompt clients to get in the mood for Christmas. Tomorrow, Friday December 6, sees the start of the Christmas craft fair at the Port and from 6pm a magician will perform conjuring tricks in for shoppers. On Saturday and Sunday, they could be surprised by street theatre performances as they browse the shops or stop for a drink or meal in local bars and restaurants. In the Old Town, the weekend activities start today, Thursday, with the Arti Nadal fair in Calle Celestino Pons which offers everything from Christmas sweetmeats to activities for the children. Saturday has been declared a Shopping Day with discounts and bargains for shoppers and a children’s Treasure Hunt that sets out from the ChurchSquare at 11.30am. Batuxanga music has been planned for the afternoon, with a new edition of Mercatap, the trade tradition of Saturday afternoon tapas and drinks that will continue at the covered Municipal Market through to midnight.
