A CAMPAIGN has been launched to try to make sure no child in Mijas and Fuengirola on Spain’s Costa del Sol is left without a Christmas present this year.

For the seventh consecutive year, the charity Cadena de Favores is collecting toys to hand out to poor families.

In this edition the charity wants to help 150 families – that is about 450 children – who are in a difficult financial position.

Once again, CLC World workers have collaborated with the foundation by bringing toys to help Cadenas de Favores achieve their goal.

And they are well on the way there too with the CLC staff contributing more than 300 gifts.

Mijas council has sent its thanks to both organisations and has set aside space in its Fomento del Empleo de Las Lagunas building for the collection of toys, old or new. These can be delivered until December 19, Mondays to Fridays between 5pm and 9 pm.

Jessica Diaz and Tamara Canalejo, both members of the board of Cadena de Favores, are already working in the building. They not only receive the toys and games, but make sure they are in good condition and clean them.

They add that they welcome the donation of old toys that have been outgrown by their present owners.
