SPAIN NEWS: Man suspected of killing partner in Barcelona hands himself in

A MAN suspected of killing his girlfriend in El Prat de Llobregat in Barcelona has handed himself in to Catalan police.

The 44-year old walked into the Mossos d’Esquadra police station on Monday just hours after

Local Police officers’ discovered his 36-year old sentimental partner’s body in their apartment. According to reports she had knife wounds.

If confirmed as a gender-based violence case this would make the 36-year old the ninth woman to die at the hands of her partner or former partner in Cataluña this year and the 53rd victim in Spain.

The couple had three children together.
