LOCAL GROUP: Los Bradmis at the height of their famePhoto credit:Javea town hall
EARLIER this week, Javea town hall paid homage to one of the municipality’s most successful and enduring groups, Los Bradmis. The tribute at the Casa de Cultura was included in the recent presentation of 150 years of music and dance in the Marina Alta by Antoni Reig. There was no better occasion to pay tribute to the group that was founded in 1965 by Juan Torres, Pedro Andres, Pepe Mayor and Pepe Buigues, municipal sources said. The four musicians achieved their greatest popularity during the 70s, when they featured in a photo-comics and appearing on the state television, TVE. Los Bradmis, who were responsible for songs like “Mañana mi Javea” that still echo in the town’s collective memory, continued performing until 2015. On celebrating their 50th anniversary, Los Bradmis officially retired although they do not hesitate to perform once more during fiestas and family celebrations.
