Costa Almeria on weather alert as storm batters the province

THE Costa Almeria is on weather alert as the province is battered by heavy winds and torrential downpours.
The AEMET State Meteorology Agency has issued orange rainfall warnings for the Levante, Nacimiento and Campo de Tabernas regions for up until 6pm today Tuesday.
There is also an orange warning in place for high seas, with waves of up to three metres, and a yellow warning for gusts of wind of up to a maximum of 80 kilometres per hour.
Almeria city, the Almanzora Valley, and the Poniente and Los Velez regions are on yellow alert.
Almeria council closed off roads and underpasses prone to flooding in the early hours of the morning as a precaution.
Meanwhile temperatures have plummeted, with maximums of just 16C, and snowfall expected about 1,500 metres.
