An evening of Zarzuela at Altea’s Pala, Costa Blanca

THERE will be a fundraising performance of Zarzuela Alive! at 8pm in the Palau on Saturday, December 13.Tickets cost €30 each at the Palau box office or €25 if bought in advance.The evening of Spanish operetta isorganised by the Corazon Expres association, the Aslipo poetry group, the cast of Vocemmus and the Jose Soriano Dance Company with the cooperation of the town hall’s Culture department and Palau Altea. “On behalf of the municipality I’d like to thank Corazon Expres for the great work that it is doing,” said Culture councillor Aurora Serrat, who also expressed her gratitude to Vocemmus’ artistic director Jovita Gomez, the Jose Soriano Dance Company and the Palau for their involvement.Zarzuela Live! has toured most of Spain with its “instructive, glowing and entertaining” focus on the still-popular music tradition which features Montserrat Marti Caballe –daughter of the late opera star –and Ignacio Encinas, finalist in La Voz (The Voice) Senior.Thanking everybody involved, Corazon Expres president Magdalena Lopez explained that the association was created five years ago and, as its name implies, it is characterised its rapid economic and human response to families. “We cannot change the world, but we can change the world of people,” she declared.
