Former Costa Blanca prosecutor’s body found in river

A BODY found floating in the river Pisuerga (Valladolid) is the former children’s prosecutor of Alicante. 

The death of Juan Ignacio Hernandez has caused consternation among his colleagues in the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which he left at the beginning of the year after requesting a leave of absence. 

Police sources say that the lifeless body was found shortly after 9.30 am on Friday (November 29) by a pedestrian who alerted the Emergency Service 112 line. The body, which was caught on a buoy, was recovered by firemen near the Las Moreras shore. Medics who attended could only confirm his death. 

National Police identified him later that afternoon.
