THE finest flavours of Almeria will be showcased in a three-day event in Almeria city over the weekend bank holiday.
The ‘Sabores Almeria’ fair featuring 35 of the province’s agro-food firms and an extensive programme of activities will be staged in the Paseo de Almeria from next Friday December 6 to Sunday December 9.
Highlights will include food tastings, live cooking demonstrations, concerts and fun stuff for kids.
This will be the sixth edition of the food fair, which the Almeria provincial government says attracts increasing numbers of residents and tourists every year.
Speaking at the fair presentation, Diputacion President Javier A. Garcia described it as the most important agro-food promotional event of the year, which puts produce from the province’s interior in the spotlight, while at the same time attracting people to the city centre.
“Our products are our best ambassadors for the thousands of visitors which the province receives over the December bridge holiday”, Garcia commented.
“Gastronomy is one of the symbols of our identity due to the quality, innovation and sustainability of our products and the know-how of our producers, chefs and restaurants”, maintained Almeria City Promotion councillor Carlos Sanchez.
Among the products which carry the provincial ‘Sabores Almeria’ quality stamp are wines, hams, cheeses, olive oils, vegetable conserves, fish, meat, bread, cold meats, chocolate, honey, jams and liqueurs.
