Costa Blanca News: Alicante tram service

Operation is necessary: The service of this tram line will be interrupted SOURCE: Tripadvisor

ALICANTE Council has unanimously approved a proposal for an institutional declaration submitted by the two formations that make up the Local Government, Popular Party (PP) team and Citizens (Cs), for which the Generalitat is requested to continue the operation of Line 5 of the Tram. The service of this tram line will be interrupted at the end of this month until the hiring of machinists is formalized and improvements are made in the layout.
The line was launched on June 10 in time for the summer to reinforce the transport service between Playa de San Juan and the centre of Alicante.
All political groups have agreed that its operation is necessary to expand the possibilities of travel between the beach district and the centre through a sustainable transport system. The mayor of Transport, Manuel Villar, has stressed that the maintenance of Line 5 of the Tram would increase the investments of the Generalitat in Alicante.
