THE CONCESSIONARY company that battles the cockroach infestations in Dénia, Costa Blanca, held an unannounced fumigation in the historic center of Les Roques, much to the dismay of the town’s residents.
Some were upset at the unusual timing of the cleaning, at five in the evening, bust most shared their horror at the actual number of insects, especially in streets closest to the Castle, thousands of them escaped to the surface. It is reported that they could even be seen from the windows of houses, crowds of brown dots jumping on the pavements and roads.
Some cockroaches, of course, got into the houses. And there were residents who sprayed the street with insecticide from the doors of their homes.
