DETECTIVES from the National Police are investigating the circumstances of a woman’s death after a corpse was found wrapped up in a mattress cover in Madrid, Spain.
The shocking discovery was made by a resident who was walking in a field close to the industrial estate of Colonia Marconi in the Villaverde district on the early hours of Saturday morning (November 30). Colonia Marconi is one of the most historic areas for prostitution in the capital.
The police have indicated that the body belonged to a woman, however she was in such an advanced state of decomposition that her age is not yet known. As Euro Weekly News understands, an autopsy and forensic tests will be performed in an attempt to uncover her identity.
The Homicide Group of the Guardia Civil have now taken charge of the investigation to find out the circumstances of the woman’s death and whether it was a murder.
