THE Miramar sports stadium in Adra is shining in a new light.
The council has now completed the €62,000 installation of LED technology lighting in the facility, which Adra Mayor Manuel Cortes said “substantially improves the illumination and turns it into an area which respects the environment far more on having improved energy efficiency.”
The mayor was commenting during a visit to the stadium accompanied by several councillors to check out the new lighting.
Cortes said he was “very pleased” with the change, describing it as “a further step in this government team’s commitment to improving the locality’s sports areas.
“We want the best and the latest for our sportspeople so they can continue practicing such healthy habits in the best conditions.”
He continued, “As I have always said, practicing sport is vital for our health, for children and adults, hence we will carry on working to develop its practice among residents.”
