A MAN has been remanded in custody after a knife killing in Estepona’s marina on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

An Estepona court ordered the 22-year-old Brazilian be detained while he is investigated for murder.

As the Euro Weekly News reported at the time, the incident took place at around 3.30 am on Sunday morning. Police say there was a heated argument between two men at a nightclub in the town. After both men left the premises, the dispute continued onto the street, where one of the men is accused of pulling a knife from his pocket before stabbing the 21-year-old victim in the neck.

The emergency services rushed to the scene, finding a young man in distress at a roundabout located at the entrance of the port. Paramedics treated the man, however despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The assailant fled from the port after the attack. A man was arrested a short time later by Local Police after a security guard provided key information about the suspect. Upon a body search by officers, a knife was found.

Police have revealed that both the victim and suspect lived in Manilva.
