Man arrested for assaulting wife with his friend in Madrid, Spain

THE Local Police have arrested two men for allegedly assaulting and threatening a woman in Madrid, Spain.

The incident occurred on Saturday, November 23, after officers responded to a complaint of possible gender violence. According to the emergency services, a woman had asked for immediate help because she was being assaulted by her husband and his friend.

As they were on their way to the address, officer’s called the woman’s mobile phone, hearing her scream at the other end, with the call then being cut off.

Once at the property, officers made the decision to force entry inside the home and as they entered they were pounced on by the two assailants. The efforts of the two men were unsuccessful, with officers managing to restrain them with handcuffs.

Upon a search of the property, officers found the woman locked inside a bathroom, scared and with several bruises on her body.

The woman told the agents that her husband had come home in a drunken state and beaten her and that it was customary for her to be assaulted and threatened. When asked about her relationship with the other man, she said that it was a friend of her husband and that he had encouraged her partner to attack her.

We at Euro Weekly News understand that the men have been charged with crimes related to gender violence and that the husband has previously been arrested for assaulting his wife in the past.
