FIGHT: According to witnesses, the fight was triggered after a rail worker asked a passenger to take his feet off a seat. Credit: Twitter.
A VIDEO has surfaced online which shows a fight between a ticket inspector and two passengers traveling on a DLR train in London, England.
The footage shows two young males kicking and punching the rail worker, who retaliates by holding onto a pole and swinging his legs at them, launching a flying kick before hitting them back.
The clip, filmed on Sunday morning (November 24), ends as a third member of the group appears to grab the worker by the neck and push him away. A woman can also be heard screaming “please stop” in the background during the fight.
British Transport Police report that the incident may have been triggered after a member of the group was asked to remove his feet from one of the seats, where the rail worker was then subjected to racist abuse. They are now investigating an allegation of assault and a racially aggravated public order offence, releasing a statement which read:
“Officers are aware of footage circulating on social media in relation to this incident, this footage is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
“The incident happened at approximately 8.45am on 24 November on board a train at Shadwell station.
“The victim, a member of rail staff, was not seriously injured.”
