ONCE again, Gibraltar will be hosting its International Jazz Festival and in addition to local talent, the headline artist will be Italian saxophonist Stefano Di Battista who is currently touring Europe with his quartet.
He is promoting his new album Woman’s Land which is dedicated to some of the great female figures of the past millennium and numbers include tributes to Ella Fitzgerald and Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereskova whilst the whole album encapsulates such diverse figures as Lara Croft and Coco Chanel.
Support act for this gig which takes place at St Michael’s Cave on December 7 will be Gibraltar’s Levanter Breeze a jazz fusion quintet featuring popular singer Surianne Dalmedo who has recently returned from playing a number of dates in the UK.
Tickets for this unreserved seating at this concert cost £35 per person including access to the shuttle bus and may be purchased online at www.buytickets.gi.
In keeping with tradition, the night before from 4.30pm there will be free music starting with the marching Jamba Brass band who will start at John Mackintosh Square, travelling to Casemates and ending at Chatham Counterguard.
Then the free concert will continue with performances from Ananya Feat Ny-Gee, No Limits Entertainment (Jazz & Blues DJ set), The Street Dogs, No Limits Entertainment and a final appearance from the Jamba Brass Band.
